Building Better Businesses

Sligh Business Advisors was built around a simple idea: most entrepreneurs know how to do the work of their business. Building the business itself is harder.

30 Years of Studying What Makes Businesses Work

I've spent more than 30 years working in, around, advising and operating small businesses.

I started my career working for a small business in 1992. Over the years I've sold, managed, trained, consulted, built business-development systems and worked with entrepreneurs and professionals trying to build better businesses.

Along the way, I became fascinated by a basic question:

Why do some entrepreneurs build businesses that are profitable, organized and capable of growing, while others—with just as much talent—remain trapped inside the businesses they created?

What I Believe

I've succeeded. I've also failed. I've learned from both.

Business owners usually don't suffer from a lack of ideas. They need clarity about what is working, what isn't, and what needs to change.

I don't consider myself a motivational coach.

I'm a change agent.

A different result requires something to change.
